The Great Art of Stealing Time ARC Contest: Day Thirteen

Rather than have one contest that people enter over a period of a week or two, I’ve decided to hold one contest for each Art of Stealing Time ARC. I have thirteen ARCs to give away, so beginning July 18th, one contest will run each day until all thirteen ARCs have been given away.

Details:

  • Each contest will require a separate entry. Once that day’s contest is over and the winner has been randomly picked, all other entries will be tossed.
  • Contests will run for 24 hours only, from midnight to the following midnight.
  • One name will be drawn randomly from the pool of entries each day to receive a signed ARC; there is one ARC per winner, so if you win one, there’s no use in entering the contest again.
  • Please note that some contests may include slight spoiler text from Time Thief, so if you haven’t read it yet, you may want to give the contest a miss.

To enter today’s contest send an e-mail to contest@katiemacalister.com with the following:

  • Your Name
  • Your Mailing Address
  • Your oath that should you win, you will keep the ARC just for you and no one else but you, because you know that I will psychically intune any sharing of the ARC, and will cry and think very sad thoughts about you. Which you don’t want.
  • Your answer to this request – What is the question to which you’d answer “I’d rather just have a pickle, thank you”?

Note: contest ends at midnight Pacific Time on Friday at 12 am. Any entries received after that time will be discarded.

A winning entry will be randomly drawn the following day, and a signed Advanced Readers Copy of The Art of Stealing Time will be sent to the winner.

New Historical Update

So, I promised details on the new book that I’m writing now, and you shall have them! The newly settled-upon title is The Truth About Leo, and while the hero is not Noble’s son Nick, it will have both Nick and Thom in secondary roles.

The hero of the book is indeed named Leo, and the heroine is a half-Danish woman named Dagmar. Both Leo and Dagmar march to the respective beats of their own drummers, and although I’m not halfway through the book yet, I am having great fun with them.

Leo will be out in August of 2014, following the re-release of Noble Intentions, Noble Destiny, and The Trouble With Harry. I have no cover yet, but you know when I get one I’ll post it.
As for what’s coming up after that…we’ll see. I’m not sure if I want to write a new dragon book, or another Karma Marx book, or a new idea that’s tickling at the back of my brain. We’ll just have to see where the muse goes once Leo is finished.

Huzzah for Audio Books!

Good news, peoples who like audio books! Editor Kate informs me that an audio company has made an offer for the rights to Even Vampires Get the Blues, Last of the Red-Hot Vampires, Men in Kilts, Corset Diaries, Blow Me Down, and Hard Day’s Knight.

I don’t know the time frame for production, but I’m thrilled that all six of those books will (soon, hopefully) be released in audio format!

Friday Fun!

All right, peeps. Let’s have a little fun this Friday. It’s question time!

Please note that your answers to the questions below should NOT include any of my books. I know, I know, you love my books, and I love you for loving them, but this is not about Warm Fuzzies For Katie, and is instead a look at what non-Katie books engage your interest.

Ready? Go!

1. What are you reading now?
2. What book (if any) do you wish you could be reading instead?
3. What book do you re-read the most?
4. Where do you most frequently get your books (library, brick and mortar bookstore, online store, etc.)?
5. If you could be one character from any book, who would it be?

Time Thief is Out!

It’s release day, it’s release day, huzzah! (You have to imagine me singing that while dancing with my dogs until they lose interest and go off to stare out the window)

Today is the release of Time Thief, and as usual, I’ve prepared a newsletter about it with all sorts of links ‘n stuff, including a contest for a Romance Sampler! If you didn’t get a copy of the newsletter for your very own, you can read it here.

Second Quarter Wallpaper

The newest quarterly wallpaper is now available!

A note about this quarter’s wallpaper. Assistant Sister Karen is, as some of you might recall, an artist in addition to helping me out with many things, and I asked her to make me some custom graphics for a book video for Time Thief. She’s been busily doing that, and we decided to use one of the images from that for this quarterly wallpaper. So instead of the normal type of wallpaper image, you get a highly artsy version. Yay for culture, right?

The Time is Nigh!

I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, and at last the doors are ready to swing open on the Katie Mac street team, AKA Mobile Minions!

What’s a street team, you ask? The Mobile Minions are a grass-roots organization of Katie MacAlister readers who wish to help spread the word about Katie’s books via online and street promotions, referred to as “Missions.” Participants are rewarded with Katie Swag, which includes exclusive for-street-team-only items like a Desktop Hero, mirrors, keychains, handmade-by-Katie book thongs, and much more.

If you’re interested in joining the Mobile Minions, drop by the info page and read up on what it entails. Be warned that it may take a few days for us to process folks and get them into the Super Secret Minion Hangout (on Facebook). Also keep in mind that actual Missions won’t begin until late March.

Please feel free to share news of the street team formation. In addition to individuals, we’re happy to have booksellers, librarians, and readers’ groups be a part of the Minion fun.

Let fly the doves! The street team is gathering!
